Who we are, where we are...
The Proloco of Castagnole Monferrato was founded on 2002, by a group of DOC Castagnolese citizens, wishing to promote the name of Castagnole, his culture, folklore, traditional dishes and wines throughout festivals, events and other pleasant occasions. The so called “board of director” renewed on 17/02/2018, is composed by the fellows here below:

The list of our friends that spend their time enjoying the life in proloco, providing you the support and services you need during the events, which took care of all the ancillaries during the parades, is too long to be reported here. Therefore in order to avoid forgetting someone we don’t mention them personally but we remember them with all our friendship and true words of gratitude.

The village of Castagnole Monferrato is located in the lower Monferrato, 14 km from Asti, 20 from Casale and 25 from Alessandria, up on a hill 200 mt a.s.l.
It is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of smooth green hills, lots of vineyards and woodlands. From the top of the hills you can admire the all Alpine arch, from the Monviso, up to the Monterosa and Cervino.
Castagnole Monferrato is nowadays known for his Ruché, a traditional local wine that grew and is produced only in the hills surrounding the village. Ruché is a very particular wine, flagship of Astesan winemaking tradition. Years ago was not so common to find it outside Castagnole or nearby places, even though the commerce of Ruché has growth in the most recent years, thanks to the effort of local winemakers and the advertising during all of our events and festivals.
